Heads Or Tails?

I've a new lens in my collection, thanks to a most generous and
benevolent friend, Robin Reid, http://www.pbase.com/rtwo/profile
who upgraded his own stable of lenses and no longer needed this one.
I'm ecstatic!

Of course I had to give the lens a quick workout this morning over
at the lake. Found this goose trying to nap. He kept opening and
closing his eye, making sure I wasn't going to come too close.

Thanks to the reach on this lens, I didn't have to!

other sizes: small medium original auto

This came out very well Gary. And I agree, I can see a face in the beak also! And you certainly feathered your own next with this shot!

Well ummm, think there's a bit of both ! I can see a face in it's beak too. Great use of the lens.

Excellent shot Gary, you exposed it perfectly, exposing the white feathers without blowing out areas can be tough. Congrats.

Great capture, and a most generous gift from a crusty old fellow like Robin!

...Just kidding Robin!! I don't think you're old at all! ;)-

Great peaceful shot. There's nothing like sleeping in your own down feathers.

Or which way is up! Great job with your new lens. Wow, looks like you've already done a lot of practicing. Well done!

Beautiful colors! Great detail! I thought he looked a little cold, maybe it is only wishful thinking on my part.

Great job with the white balance. Lots of details in the feathers.

Love the title -- so did you flip him up in the air when you were done and see what came out on top? (I'd have shouted "Tails!", and RUN.) ;^) Very nice shot.

Such a cool shot and so well exposed to a perfect white balance. Wonderfully creative.
