Was a bit confused thinking these were Forget-Me-Not so had to look up. Guess they are also called false Forget-Me-Not or Siberian Bugloss. Learn something new every day. Pretty colors.
I love the delicate colors - especially that touch of pink on one of the flowers. I suspect the f/2 is part of the reason the flowers aren't ultra sharp. In the macro range there's a very small area of focus. Shutting down the aperture might help, but you'll then have a slower shutter speed which can lead to camera shake blurring. Another factor that causes problems with macros is WIND...I find it one of the biggest problems with macros. In general it's best to shoot early or late in the day when the sun is low. Try taking advantage of the sun showing through petals. Makes for really pretty shots. Of course, if you're really dedicated and not lazy as I am you can use a tripod, which invariably helps.
