First Mat

I want to share with you the first useable mat (we don't count practice cuts) I made with the Logan 450 mat cutter I bought last year with my earnings from two second place wins in pet photography contests at a local store. I was initially too intimidated by the whole thing to actually try to make something useable but when I saw this picture I knew I had to frame it. It's a 5 x 7 image printed on a piece of 8.5 x 11 paper. I really like the balance of the arrangement. The large sheet of mat board from which this piece was cut cost $4.71...and there are many more mats to be cut from that same piece, so it really does pay to cut your own mats.

Congratulations Isabel! I can imagine it is hard to jump in and do it but now that you have done one it won't be so hard. Sue W. does her mats all the time.

Very nice. Did you get mat board over net or locally?

Definately worth the effort. I bet that you'll be producing these by the dozen soon and their won't be a spare space left on your walls.

Thanks for the kind words. Once you get into selling this stuff it ceases being fun. I'd rather have a "one of a kind"!

Lovely Isabel! Hey Carrie has got a good idea you could mat and frame your work and sell it! This would be darling in anyone's home.

For sale to the highest bidder? Great job Isabel! That Louie is certainly a beautiful lounger!
