I've used a similar basket at Laura's to retain her wiggly Dandie puppies. Thought I'd pick one up and see if Ricky would fit in it. Happily, he did. The backdrop is a collapsible Botera Chromakey Green screen and the fabric under the basket I picked up in a local fabric store (Foam and Fabric). It was $6.99 a yard. I was amazed how close in color it is to the Botero screen. The crushed velvet fabric came from Wal-Mart.
