Guadalupe Mountains National Park is one of the most remote national parks in U.S. It preserves the rugged spirit and remote wilderness of the American West. It tower majestically into the Texas Sky. Surroundings are the sparsely polulated plains of the CHihuahuan Desert.

The moon in the photo was at morning 7 am local mountain time of Dec 21 after a total lunar eclipse on the same night as the winter solstice, which doesn’t happen very often. NASA says the last time the two events coincided was in 1638 — 372 years ago.
