Grand Wash is a steep walled, narrow canyon (but shorter than Capital Gorge) running through the Waterpocket fold meeting the Fremont River east of the park entrance. This canyon is also narrow, twisting and sheer walled. At one point in the canyon, I could not see the rim of either side of the canyon. The canyon wall textures vary from very smooth to deeply grooved with large coarse aggregate exposed. The colors within the canyon vary depending on the location of the sun and the position of the viewer, displaying an incredible array of colors and shadows
