It was pretty dark out when I took this tonight. (I guess the iso400 causes the grain)

My neighbors are headed out to Korea, Tiawan, and Hong Kong for a month. They asked us to keep an eye on the house. I told them I would take a picture now so they could compare it on their return to ensure we had been faithful in carrying out our responsiblities.

I offered to remove the wreath for them.

They would like the wreath to remain.

My second choice for my PaD tonight was http://www.pbase.com/dhnieman/image/41518249

Olympus D-580Z
1s f/4.4 at 12.8mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Awesome work Don, it really pops out of the frame.

Nice image, your neighbours house looks very welcoming.

Its a wonderful shot. Love the colors of the door and the soft yellow light. But tell me: what do you mean with wreath? I can't find a good explanation in my dictionary.

I like the second shot more. There's symmetry to it. But that doesn't mean this one isn't good. They're both great :)

I like the colours you get when it starts getting dark

I agree with Cliff, excellent light.

I quite like the effect of the faded natural light and the tungsten porch light. You're a concientious neighbour :o)

Only 8 more months to go for the wreath... Then start the clock all over.

I like these warm welcoming colors Don. Nice treatment!

Nicely exposed to catch both the lighted porch and the exterior too. If they see this picture at some Internet cafe they'll be homesick for sure.

Such a welcoming porch.
