There is a story behind this photo. As I stated in the introduction to the gallery, my wife and I had experienced a pretty rough first 11 months of 2002. I had left Buffalo, NY behind and was on my way for two weeks in Roratonga. At this very spot during my drive down the Califonia coast on my way to catch a plane in LA for the trip to the South Pacific, I stopped to watch seals playing in the surf. I called Elaine on my cellphone, we talked for about an hour and a half. I never made the plane to Roratonga, instead caught a flight back to Buffalo and here we are today.
