Id'd Orange Crowned Warbler

This warbler was seen at Loudy Simpson, Craig, Moffat County on August 8, 2007.
The undertail coverts and vent are white. It has wingbars. The photos are poor, wish they were better.
This warbler has been id'd by some of Colorado's best as a molting juvenile Orange-crowned, probably female orestera.

Sorry, but this isn't an orange-crowned warbler. O-c Ws have an eye LINE. This one has an eye RING. Also, the forms of O-c Ws with gray heads have much less yellow. The bird is a bit of a challenge. I'd say without hesitation that it's a female McGillivray's warbler (note the diagnostic incomplete eye ring), except that the gray doesn't extend as far down on the throat as is typical. My second choice would be a female Nashville warbler, although they typically have a yellower throat and a complete eye ring. If taken in dense brush in the West, it's a McGillivray's. If taken in dense brush in the East, it's a Nashville. Either way, I don't believe it's an orange-crowned.
