I did not get your name but it was so nice to hear from someone from way back then. Is it David Hilbe? I remember and especially the very long and noisy stairwell from the third floor dorm where we were, the "cubs". Indeed it has been such a long time but to see the old grand building brings much of it back. I don't know if you remember the fact that I tried to play the organ back then and played as well at a church close by to the school. St. Ignatius. That was the last year that the high school was open. I then went to Holy Cross in New Orleans. The Brothers of Holy Cross. Many of them stand out eg. Bro. Jacob Eppy (a saint), Bro. Severus, Bro. Lawrence (prefect of the dorm) & Bro. Wilbur. I don't remember the priciples name. I wonder where they all are? St. Edwards contribution to me , I went on to become an RN and practised for 30yrs. Now retired and having some difficuly with all the time and a physical limitation which prevents me from even short schedules. We'll get through by the grace of God. I do not know where my year book sent with so much travel over the years. Is there an archive of photos? Look to hear from you soon. God's speed.

It has been so many years. So, to view just the great building at the top of the hill off Congress Ave brings bck so many memories of St. Edwrads High School. I pray that all school mates and olds teachers are well or happy beyond. James Gawrada
I have to add another comment. Thank you so much. I just bumped into this site trying to get some information on the old high school. The image 3117 of thumbnails for "Misc campus pictures" shows, on the left side of the photo, the top floor dormitory ffor the "cubs". I went to school there the year of the tower killings on the UT campus. What a sad time! These are some names; Bro. Severus Sanchez, Bro. Lawrence Young (the prefect of of my dormitory), Bro. John Carrington. I remember the first floor was of tiles and all other floors, "wooden". As I write I can hear the clatter of heals comming down the very long stairwell to the chapel. It was so dark in the morings and could be cold. At the very top in the dorm sinks lined the wall the hid the stairwell. I canhear the brothers screaming at us not to be so noisy, and boy, could they shout! Someone please respond. Tell me if you remember.
