FORE!!!!!

So I said it yesterday, spring came in January.
It had nothing to do with the weather or the season,
it only had to do with me and my insides.

Well, if it is spring inside, I can make it spring outside.
Off to the driving range I went!

Now, here is the story on this one:
See that golf club in my hand?
Brand spanking new golf club.
I actually peeled the plastic off it at the range.
A few years ago I went out and bought new clubs.
They are amazing golf clubs, Taylormade LT2s.
They were top of the line when I bought them.
The problem that I ran into was that I am not top of the line.
If you know me, you know that a shattered hip a femur sort of
ended my real golfing (and skiing and lots of stuff).
However, my freaking ego wanted those clubs.
I knew eventually I would be good enough for them.
What an idiot I (and my ego) was being.
I have never been really comfortable with them.
I have never been consistent with them either.
Sometimes I could hit them wonderfully,
then after a few holes as my hip started to hurt,
I would be slamming them all over the map.
Well, I have had enough of kidding myself.
I went out and picked up a set of Jack Nicklaus Q4 Irons.
Quite simply, I ditched the pro hardware
and picked up some game improvement sticks.
This really brings me full circle in my golf life.
My first set after the accident was Jack's Golden Bear set.
Granted, it took me 4 years to golf after the accident,
but when I was finally strong enough to, those were my clubs.
This really just gives me something I can hit easier.
As I golf, after a few holes, my swing changes.
I get all hitchy and shorter with it.
I really hope these allow me to just swing easy.
I only hit a small bucket.
Granted, they were not perfect shots,
but right away I can tell they are MUCH better than the old clubs for me.
I guess I have matured enough that my ego can now rest.
I expect this to be the most enjoyable golf season of my life.
Bring on the bogeys!

And yes, that is snow, and it was freaking cold.
