I would like to know more about this. Is it an original feature? Are there two entrances or is that for symmetry? What is that round aperture for? Is the ground-level window a modern addition - it looks it - and what does it let light onto? What would an entrance like this represent - restricted access as a defensive measure or is it just a decorative feature?
\thanks for any ideas !
