While a group of children look on, one boy shouts out loud to two young boys as they wrestle in some hay outside a family home. The children are all from Yazgulom. About 6,000 people live in Yazgulom, in five different villages. Their language, Yazgulomi, is spoken nowhere else. Yazgulom's residents are Pamiri. The vast majority of Pamiris are Ismaili, but by contrast Yazgulomis practice the Sunni branch of Islam. Photo taken on July 19, 2011 in Matravn, Yazgulom, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province, Tajikistan.
