Yosemite -- January 2004

A quick trip to attend the Chef's Holidays event at the Awahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park, California.
We had a few snatches of time for some photography between the cooking demonstrations and the awesome gala dinner by Chef Mark Franz of the Farallon restaurant in San Francisco.

Last Light on Half Dome-DR		 The interesting thing about this place is that in the winter, it is just a slight wide spot in the river and not really a proper lake. In the spring and summer with all the snow melt it becomes a proper Lake again. So it was a bit more of a challenge to try and capture the mirror effect when there is far less of a mirror to work with ;~).

I just can't beleive you came back with such incredible shots from snatches of time you had for taking pictures. I know how hard is to plan and be at a particular place before sunrise or after sunrise. You are a genius! - Karthik.

Very nice, look like we both followed the same path to the Ahwanee, may be at different times and always a treat to see Yosemite.

With respect to your recent comment, we English sometimes refer to wheat as 'corn' ~ don't ask me why, it's just a generic term for grain!!
