John Walter Paxton

Unknown

My grandfather on my father’s side.

Very few photographs exist of him and this is only one I've ever seen.

He was an traveling Methodist preacher from Nebraska who "died" when my Dad was 12.
What dad has been able to piece together over the years is that my grandmother divorced him on an unusual trip that occurred out of the blue to Reno, Nevada...
but that wasn't very socially acceptable to say back in 1937.
After that divorce, my father never saw his father again
and he just told people that his father was dead because that was easier and more acceptable in those times.

As far as my Dad knows John Walter Paxton died sometime in the 40's.
