Abandoned Cabins

Tomales Bay, California

There was a certain forlorn quality about the abandoned cabins gracefully declining in such a prime location...
The owner stormed up and pointed out that this was private property and wondered what we were up to.
I smiled and remarked on how beautiful it was here.

There was a pregnant pause,

then he softened and smiled too,
then let us continue shooting in what was left of the last light...

The weathered wood and muted colors of the structures along the shore of Tomales Bay are wonderful subjects, and you caught this at the perfect time.
