I saw this shot of Steve burping Grant, and just had to grab two frames of it. I love the way the picture turned out (except for Spencer's little toy in the background!).
Baby Grant was being lighted by skylight,coming in through the skylight above him, and so thus the 1/200 second shutter speed indoors....there's a LOT more light hitting the baby than is hitting Steve. Luckily, the flash bounced off the ceiling helps out, but that's why the baby looks so much brighter than his daddy does. I thought I'd actually get LESS daylight ambient exposure out of 1/200 second since I was at f/10, but this was actually a VERY bright,beautiful day outside.The baby was so hot on the original NEF that I had to reduce exposure quite a bit where the shaft of skylight lighting hits the baby and Steve's fingers...the shadowed parts of the shot were then lifted a bit.
