By the evening of July 9, the weather had turned cloudy, and windy, and there was quite a bit of ocean swell building. This photo is well into a battle I was involved in with with a large salmon that I hooked in about 160 feet of water off of Slip Point. The fish hit a brined blue-label herring on a 2-hook fluorocarbon mooching leader I had tied earlier in the afternoon. I was using a Rhys Davies Super Herring Magic head holder with two 4/0 Mustad 92553 hooks.
