Terri Irwin asks for 'khaki day' tribute to the Crocodile Hunter
Steve Irwin's widow, Terri (R) has named November 15 'khaki day'.
Steve Irwin's widow, Terri, has asked fans to wear his trademark khaki clothes in memory of the 'wildlife warrior' on November 15.
Terri Irwin asked for privacy yesterday on the year anniversary of the death of the beloved Australian environmentalist, and called for November 15 to be known as 'Steve Irwin Day'.
November 15 was the birthday of Australia Zoo's Giant Galapagos Land Tortoise, Harriet. The zoo team chose the day to celebrate Steve's life as it was 'always a very special day to Steve'.
In a message posted on her late husband's Australia Zoo website, Terri said it would be a fitting tribute to the world famous 'Crocodile Hunter' if fans dressed up as him in his safari shorts and shirt for the commemorative day.
She said: "It is still very raw and hard. But my husband had millions of fans and I know they will want to pay their respects. And what better way to get everyone to dress like him."
Terri is reportedly marked the first anniversary of her husband's passing yesterday with a low-key day with their nine-year-old daughter Bindi and three-year-old son Bob in her native US.

Queensland's State Premier Peter Beattie also paid tribute to Steve, describing him as one of the state's greatest cultural ambassadors.
Steve was killed aged 44 on September 4, 2006, during a freak accident when a stingray barb pierced his heart as he was filming an underwater documentary on the Great Barrier Reef in northern Australia.
