Steve Irwin remembered
STEVE Irwin fans don't come any more devoted than Jacob Hunter, who changed his first name to "Croc" on the day his idol died one year ago today.
Now six, the littlest "Croc" Hunter realised a dream to visit Irwin's Australia Zoo In Queensland with his family yesterday on the eve of the anniversary of the original Crocodile Hunter's death.
In matching crocodile caps, Croc and his older brother Alex, 8, were among many visitors who inspected the memorial fence.
The boys' parents, Mick and Donna Hunter of Sydney, said that Jacob had been an Irwin fan since he could say the words.
"He just turned to us and said, `my last name's Hunter, so from now on I'm going to be called Croc, not Jacob'," said Ms Hunter. "It's on his schoolbooks and he signs his homework Jacob Croc Hunter – everyone in the family calls him Croc
