What's on the other side of the street? A 1960s commercial office building, 100 Church Street. Most of the tenants are NYC agencies. What caught my eye here was the air intake ducts. Very unusual to see them located at street level. Why did the developer do this in the 1960s? Because, the neighborhood was so bad, and so unloved, that the thought of putting storefront retail on the block was a non-issue. So they just put the ducts here instead.
