Taken at the annual Commemorative Air Force’s ’40s Big Band Dance in the CAF’s main hanger at Falcon Field, Mesa, Arizona. The Arizona Wing of the CAF is home for “Sentimental Journey,” one of the few remaining B-17 bombers still flying. The 4-engine bomber was known during W.W.II as the Flying Fortress. The event was attended by approximately 1400 people, most of whom were dressed in 1940s military- or civilian-style. The yearly event includes a wardrobe contest and is a blast.
