Brentwood Mitigation Area (aka Deer Hill Wildlife Management Area), Brentwood, New Hampshire; there is a Great Blue Heron rookery in this area; this past winter all of the nests were damaged or destroyed from the strong winds; the herons responded by rebuilding the colony; the adults often land on a nearby branch and hop into the nest; this adult had just landed.
