Being the birthplace of the first Olympic Games and having a huge archaeological site, Olympia is also a popular place for tourism.
The Olympia Archaeological Museum is not a big one, but the exhibits excavated from the Olympia Archaeological Site are very impressive. Besides the few notable statues, there are also 42 figures that were used as ornaments decorating the two pediments of the Temple of Zeus. The expressions on the faces of these figures, or even on the face of the lion head water spout are simply remarkable.
