The main attraction of Athens is Acropolis. The word acropolis, which means a citadel in an elevated area in an ancient Greek town, can be referred to the other "upper cities" in Greece, but this term seems to have become a proper noun only for the one in Athens, which was built about 2,500 years ago. In the past it had suffered heavy damages during the multiple invasions and wars. Though the current restoration on the Acropolis site has been going on since 1975, it still attracts at average 14,000 tourists daily. Many tourists are waiting to revisit Athens when the restoration is finally finished. Me Too.
