Rock salt sculpture reminds me of sand sculpture; in fact, I should include two or three examples in this recap of the Moods I’ve experienced on my travels.
I was passing through Parksville, Canada, without realizing that a sand sculpting competition was taking place there that day. I was delighted by this stroke of luck.
Some artists had already finished by the time I arrived, while others were putting the finishing touches on their work. I didn't stay for the announcement of the results.
I didn't know that this sculpture depicted a famous late guitarist, but I found the expression very interesting.
It won first prize in the "Soloist" category.
Its title was "Hendrix Live Wild Thing.", sculpted by artist Peter Vogelaar.
