While the street statue of Puccini is dedicated to honour the famous opera composer, in Buenos Aires, this sculpture in Plaza Lavalle, is their National Ballet Monument.
It is a sculpture dedicated to the memory of nine members of the Teatro Colón's permanent ballet company, including renowned dancers Norma Fontenla and José Neglia, who died in a 1971 plane crash.
They were all departing on a performing tour when the tragedy happened.
