These teenagers were funny. They were posing in front of the statue, waiting for me to turn around to discover them.
I took this picture and approached them. The one on the right asked me if he looked like Puccini.
I said, "Without the cigarette. Don't follow that part of him."
They asked me why I would visit Lucca. I said my Italian teacher was from there. I heard about this city from her.
They were surprised to find out that I studied Italian, and asked me why.
I pointed to the statue, said jokingly, "Because of his operas.....Really, Italian is the most musical language, and one of the most beautiful too."
That was a nice chat with these young fellows. (At that time my Italian was considered fluent, but not anymore).
