I just emailed you but it appears the message was too long. My name is Barbara Orvis. Your grandparents' Mary Ann and Henry were responsible for my parents' marriage. Hank was a Beta Theta Pi along with my father, Robert Orvis, and Mary Ann was my mother's very best friend at the Tri-Delt house in Minneapolis. For the Tri-Delts Spring Formal (1940) they arranged the blind date between my folks and it must have been a great evening..they wed 11/9/1943.
Betty died August 21, 2014 and Dad died this year, March 29th. Only your grandmother's death affected me like the way my parents' deaths have affected me. I was totally devastated at Mary Ann's memorial service. And I am still grieving the loss of my beloved parents.
i was a flight attendant from 1977 - 1981 with TransAmerica Airlines so I spent many an hour visiting Mary Ann. My folks visited often and a few times we were invited down to Pebble.
I found a black and white photo of Mother and a woman friend. They are out front of the Tri-Delta house. I think the friend of Betty's is Mary Ann and I sure would love to send this photo to you. I sure hope it's Mary Ann. She was another mother to me.
