Wilmington, Vermont: Red Barn, Dark Sky, White Snow II

Note to those interested in the unusual light: this was taken in the very late afternoon in the Mount Snow valley. It was about to pour down rain, but the late afternoon sun got one last glimpse through the clouds and illuminated the barn. It was so captivating with the ominous dark sky behind it that we stopped the car so I could grab a quick shot. I only got a couple and then the sky closed up for the rest of the afternoon.

Della, too bad you did not have time to really exploit this scene. I can see another dozen more shots at various anges - as I am sure you did. I have a red barn in winter shot like this that I love, but I can't remember where I took it. When you get as old as me I guess you need one of those cameras with the built in GPS. (that assumes I could lean how to use it)

Beautiful! Really nice how the buildings are lightened with the dark sky in the background, Excellent subject, also. V

Wonderful capture of the unique lighting. I love old barn pictures too. Your site is listed in my favorites and I frequently visit.

Looks like we were in different parts of Vermont together this past weekend. My wife and I spent part of Saturday photographing some covered bridges along Route 5. The sky was very changeable then too.
