I visited them in the early afternoon yesterday. It was nice and warm and sunny, so most of the families were dozing in the sun together. Goslings must be kept very warm (about 105 degrees) so they frequently huddle together or try to get under mom to stay warm. Some of the geese are very protective of their goslings and will only allow me to get within 8-10 feet of them, but one family was very relaxed about having me around, as long as I approached slowly and crouched down in a non-threatening way. She let me get as close as 5 feet. Thanks, Momma Goose!
