Twick or Tweet!
These two little boys were very excited! Ben was of course a race car driver, and Jake was a bowling player (everything is all about bowling for him). They worked hard at the trick or treating, and we had to cut them off after an hour. Now what is Mommy going to do with all that candy?

Fairy Princess
Eliza had a blast trick-or-treating. But I guess Mommy and Daddy will have to eat most of her candy. Too bad!

Mom and Dad
My Dad has been a little under the weather recently, so I was happy to have the chance to snap some pics when we all got together to celebrate Halloween. I'm so glad they remain active, even taking care of their 3 year old twin great-grandsons at least once a week. Keeps us all young!

Wowee--HDR
This is my first attempt at HDR. This was handheld because I didn't have time to set up the tripod (I'm babysitting 3 sleeping children and ran outside for a minute, well, maybe 3 minutes). I can't wait to try some other shots. I am using Photomatix on a free trial, but I may just have to buy it cause this looks like it is going to be fun.

A Closer View
OK, here is a quick and dirty pic taken with my new toy, a 105mm macro lens. I only had about 10 minutes to play with it today. I'm used to a zoom lens, so working with a fixed one is different. Gotta figure out my DOF, too. But I think it's going to be really cool.

Hospital Blues
My dad has been in the hospital for a few days. It's an exhausting place to be, both for the patient and the family members. Hopefully, he will get to come home soon, so we can all get some rest.

Salt and Pepper, Anyone?
Way back in another life, I collected little knick knacks like these bird salt and pepper shakers. Now I am trying to simplify, so these are going up on eBay, with the proceeds going to my sponsored boy in Nicaragua.

Eliza
Allison has a friend who is a professional photographer, and she has been trying to set up a fall photo shoot with this girl. But they haven't been able to get together, so Allison asked me to take some pics. Suddenly, I was so nervous and put all this pressure on myself since I was taking the place of a Professional. All I can say is that I am really glad I don't do this for a living, because it is too stressful!

The Greatest Show on Earth
Today we took the boys to the circus. We had a nutritious lunch of popcorn, a big pretzel, and a sno-cone. We got there way early to meet some of the performers and the boys even got to walk the tightrope. But by intermission they were pretty bored with any act that didn't involve animals. About halfway through the tiger performance, Ben announced "I'm done with this. I want to go home." And you know what? That's exactly what we did.

Strike Zone
We took Ben and Jake to the bowling alley this afternoon. At one point, we were the only ones there. We had a blast. Both of them insisted on carrying their 6 pound balls from the holding area to the lane and then rolling them down the alley. A lot of work when you don't even weigh 30 pounds yourself! But boy, will they sleep well tonight!

Dragon!
Well, not really a dragon, but he's pretty scary looking close up. My camera of choice was my point-and-shoot, which is really good at close-ups and will have to do until I buy a macro lens for my "big girl" camera.

Moon Shot
This is my first attempt at a night shot using a tripod. Definitely trial and error.

Everybody Out of the Pool
Today we closed the pool for the season. We really haven't used it for a couple of weeks, but it's still sad that we won't be able to swim till next year. The weather has been warm and dry for weeks with beautiful blue skies. But this afternoon, as if on cue, the skies turned gray and cloudy. It's time.

Golden Days
A beautiful fall afternoon.

Blackberry Lily II
Looks really yummy, but definitely not blackberries.

Come On, Let's Sit a Spell
Today I finally went to take some pictures at Susie Chapel Church Camp. It's out a country road, and I pass it all the time, but never stop. It's all these little cabins that look like they haven't changed in 50 years. It's kind of creepy, like a time warp.

Oh Shoot!
My photography class went on a field trip outside this evening to see if we could actually use our cameras instead of just talking about what to do. Some of this stuff is starting to make sense!

Experimental
I'm experimenting with aperture, shutter speed, and ISO for photography class. This is pretty dark, and has some "noise" since it was shot at high ISO. Don't I sound smart?!

Canna
I love how this turned out! I'm so excited to be learning more about my camera.

White Out
Apparently, when your college team plays on ESPN on Thursday or Friday evening, everybody is supposed to wear white. This is Marshall University's version versus the Cincinnati Bearcats. As I write this, the game is still going on, but Marshall is getting their butt(s?) kicked.

Late Afternoon
Ben was actually very grumpy and didn't want me to take his picture. I need better bribes.

Sarah-Bear
My firstborn, who graciously agreed to allow me to take her picture only in support of my quest to become a better photographer. Thanks!
