Dad wanted a photo showing each of the places he served. Dad was in Field Artillery, so he arrived after D Day, but things were still pretty hot. There was so much shelling while they tried to sleep on Omaha beach, that he crawled under a trailer in the pitch darkness. He awoke in the morning to realize that he had slept in a place where several horses had been tethered the day before.
