One big cloud rolled across the plains of Nebraska this afternoon. Just behind it was a wall of rain that dropped on us like a bucket -- and then was gone in twenty minutes. I was sitting in the local Starbucks, having just photographed the threatening and fascinating sky when the staff decided the outdoor umbrellas weren't going to weather the storm. So, they drew straws, and this young woman got to go out in the pouring rain and retrieve all three umbrellas. In the interest of photojournalistic integrity (i.e., taking pics while keeping dry), I snapped this shot (through the window) of the hard-working barrista (or is that barristette?) schlepping in the last brolly.
