One of several protesters at a rally against religious suppression in Vietnam. This gent looks a littel severe here, but I think I just took him a little by suprise. He smiled when I nodded, smiled, and said "thank you".
For those of you under thirty, the flag is that of the Republic of Viet Nam (RVN) i.e., South Vietnam, which ceased to exist on this day thirty years ago when the last American (the ambassador) left and the North Vietnamese army seized the capital, Saigon (now Ho Chi Min City).
