8/13/04 - Web vs Real World

This is a rip-off of Nikki Harmon's idea. No, as a matter of fact, I *don't* have any shame. :)

Karen, You're asking the wrong guru; I've done pretty much only draft printing. I was going to try shutterfly or whatever.

Oh man, there goes one of my back-up ideas for the blue theme! =: ^) ( Although I still have my swatch books....

Nice colors Dennis!

This is great! I wish I'd seen it earlier when I was struggling for some inspiration. Nope, I don't have any shame either. ;-)

Cool colors! Overwhelming to have to choose.
Spent 2 hours at Walmart yesterday tying to get colors correctly printed (never did) then went home and burned a whole color cartridge, and still don't have a passable print. What's the answer?

Jude, Good point. I actually don't print that many photos (mine are seldom worth it) and things other than web pages I want to read offline. One of these days I'll start printing more and will then start caring a lot more about color, color management, and all that stuff. Hmmm, just thought of something; when people buy photos, they usually want then printed! Duh! So, if I ever want to make any money at this silly obsession, I should practice printing things out!

I don't worry about "web" ready colors.. i worry about whether they print OUT as I see them and process to make them look. That's the troublesome part.. more troublesome than I'd have ever thought..
I like your fans..lol

Very nice, Dennis.

Good idea for a photo--nice spectrum!

I've quit worrying about "web ready" colors. I think it was only useful when people had older monitors. (Actually, I couldn't figure out a funny title for the pic. I saw Nikki Harmon's photo of the ivory oriental fan, and it triggered the thought that I had these color selector things, so I just spread them out and clicked. In other words, I copied.)

Which one did you pick :-)
Fine idea - well done
