Here is a photograph of a Greater Flamingo.
In past years over a million Flamingo's could show up at Lake Nakuru. Due to the hight water levels in recent years, the majority of the Flamingos are now going to other lakes in the Rift Valley.
The Greater Flamingo has pinkish-white plumage, with red wing coverts. The primary and secondary flight feathers are black. The bill is pink with a black tip, and the legs are entirely pink.
We estimated only a few thousand Flamingo's at the most during our visit to Lake Nakuru.
