PacMan Nebula / NGC-281

Sedro-Woolley, Wa.

Image center RA: 0h53m25.41s DE:+56°40'26.1"
This nebula, located in the constillation Cassiopeia, was credited to E.E. Barnard in 1888, for its discovery.
Embedded in the nebula is IC1590, an young open cluster estimated to be 3.6 million years old. These objects are about 9500 light years away.
