The scope rings in this photo were made to clamp on the camera end while allowing the objective end to move for focusing. The top plate is where the guide scope is attached. In running some test exposures I doubt that I really need to guide for the effective focal length of about 280mm. Test shots indicated slight squaring of low intensity stars for a twenty minute unguided exposure.
