The Leo Trio is a group of three galaxys in the constillation Leo, consisting of M65, M66, and NGC3628.
NGC3628 is the galaxy at the top of the picture. It is about 35 million light years away and said to be a spiral galaxy.
Its' discovery is credited to William Herschel in 1784.
M66 / NGC3627 is pictured to the lower left. It is about 36 million light years distant and 95 thousand light years across.
Its discovery is credited to Charles Messier in 1780.
M65 / NGC3623 is the galaxy on the lower right. At about 22 million light years distant, it is the closest of the three.
Discovery of M65 is also credited to Charles Messier in 1780.
