originalJPEG.jpg

This is an unadjusted Extra Fine JPEG from the A700 using straightforward P exposure and matrix metering. The file shows how well the system has avoided blowing out the lighter detail. My question is: does the NR, the lack of noise in this in-camera conversion, allow really big raw-type adjustments in ACR 4.2? The Extra Fine JPEG format may actually be an alternative to shooting raw. I used DRO Advanced Auto, sharpness set to -3, contrast normal, saturation to +1, AdobeRGB space (converted later to sRGB for pBase), 5000K +M1 colour balance. The rest you can read from the EXIF data (16-80mm CZ lens).
