Of course, flash was used here - ignore the EXIF! It was just not a dedicated flash, but a hammerhead Nissin unit connected via the PC sync and set to a manual 1/16th output with Aperture priority main exposure to back it up. Sadly, the entire Canon EOS system does not permit second curtain sync with any flash units other than dedicated camera-top Canon battery flashguns. This is a bit restricting for studio and location flash users, but it's worked fine here with no ghosting issues. A few shots were not so lucky but as ever, the answer is to take plenty. These are reduced size files; the full size pix are great for sharpness and minimal noise.
