And so at last I have reached my goal. This is the old General Post Office (GPO) - once the New
South Wales headquarters for the old Post Master General's Department. There is still a post office
on the premises but now, 90% of it is one huge hotel foyer, up market shopping precinct and open plan
restaurant complex. The open area in front is the beginning of Martin Place.
