servicing different parts of the CBD, leading traffic to the cross city tunnel and the Eastern
Suburbs or to the Harbour Bridge. It contributes a steady traffic noise which dissipates behind
highrise structures and melds with the general hub of the CBD nearby. Pyrmont is the home of
corporate executives, successful "artistic directors", attractive and fashionable young upward
mobiles sporting "designer stubble", who pose along sidewalk cafes and for whom Sydney ends
just over the river ... somewhere.
