This wonderful clock and memorial was built in 1888 to commemorate 100 years of European settlement
in Australia. Of course, since then, we have had a BIcentennial event. Goodness me I have just realised
that 1988 was already a quarter of a century ago. Gee I am getting old. That means that this
memorial was built 125 years ago.
