Eastern Road here crosses the M7, a motorway which basically bypasses inner Sydney. It links
the M5, the M4 and the M2 via a system of interchanges and permits traffic from the south - which
DOESN'T want to go to Sydney - to continue up the coast, saving large amounts of time and removing
unnecessary congestion from Sydney surface roads. Running alongside the M7 is a purpose designed
cycleway, which is joined by the facility I had just passed.
