The lines across the road are a warning to slow down and prepare to make a sharp turn. We are
approaching the historic Lennox "Horsehoe" Bridge - one of the reasons we decided to come this way.
Mitchell's Pass is a route pioneered by Major Thomas Mitchell, an early NSW Surveyor General. From
1833 until 1926, this road WAS the Great Western Highway and the bridge we are about to see dates
from the beginning of that period.
