Inside the old coaches looks so sumptuous and comfy. Leather upholsery, lots of padding, lovely
glowing varnished timber, brass fittings etc etc. Mind you, looking back to my early days when
some of these carriages were still in service (would you believe) these seats were never quite as
accommodating as they look and if they didn't clean out the accumulating steam engine soot properly
it could be pretty unpleasant. Still .... I miss it all. Ah nostalgia.

They certainly don't make them like that any more! Looks a lot nicer than plastic coated steel tubing.

Lovely image still my childhood memory doesn't come with a fold down table and individual leather seats. I do however have a vivid memory of the dining car and all the white linen, cutlery and glassware with waiters in white jackets. I'd love to take a ride again. Thanks for the memory.
