As part of my work for the Rhododendron Festival I am official photographer. Accordingly I turn up
at all of the festival events during November and take pictures. The Local Composers' Concert at
Blackheath's Ivanhoe pub bristles with talent across a wide range of genres. The sound engineering
is wonderful but (not being theatrical types) nobody thought to throw actual light on the stage
so that people like me can take pictures. As the late afternoon light faded to general gloom I struggled
personfully, armed with nought but one of my venerable D80s and a useful (but slow) zoom lens.
I was quite lucky to get anything at all.
