We walk down Smith Street from the eastern side of Taren Point Road (near Captain Cook Bridge) and
are not entirely sure how to proceed. The WCS maps say to go through the boom gate in the picture
and follow the shore. The gate itself (for the local angler's club) says "members only". We take
that to mean that only members may DRIVE through. As the maps are council sponsored, we assume that
there is an arrangement with the club giving walkers access to the shoreline.

The conditions are cool, dark and distinctly threatening. Let's hope this will not be another day
of getting drenched. The intrepid two continue.
